Yup, that's a Monogram.

Being a total nerd, I think monograms are cool. They're old-fashioned and rarely done these days, so it's right up my alley. I made this one for myself and adopted a motto of sorts.

So, what does Coram Deo mean?

Coram Deo is a Latin phrase meaning "before the face of God." It signifies living one's entire life in the presence of God, under His authority, and to His glory (with thanks to R.C. Sproul for the lesson in theology).

Remember though, that I'm a bit of a doofus. So this is as much a reminder for myself as it is a public declaration of my desire to live my life in such a way.

What's with all the lines and shapes?

I love symbols. Aside from the obvious "WHK" for my initials, the symbology here is deeply tied to my faith and the phrase "Coram Deo." Taken together, the elements of the monogram represent one, perfect, triune God; the light of His truth, and his desire for us to be the light of the world. It also reminds me that I want to be in the center of his will.
